Crocodile River Adventure Tours in Costa Rica
Costa Rican bird watching paradise
Our tour takes place on the Tárcoles River, one of the most populated crocodile rivers in the world. From our river boat, we cruise along the river observing American crocodiles up-close in their natural habitat. In one tour it is very common to see crocodiles from baby size up to 17 feet long! Other reptiles such as iguanas and Jesus Christ lizards are also frequently spotted. The river is home to over 120 species of exotic birds, of which about 30 can be admired in one tour, such as the colorful scarlet macaw and unique roseate spoonbill.
We will pass through the tropical Guacalillo mangrove forest where animals such as monkeys, raccoons, and anteaters are occasionally observed. During the tour, our one-of-a-kind crocodile man will perform a breathtaking crocodile feeding show, which allows visitors to take spectacular up-close photographs and video. Our experienced and friendly bilingual guide will accompany the visitors and provide interesting information about the river’s flora and fauna. The tour length is approximately 2 hours and visitors receive a complimentary bottle of cold water.
Our tour is designed for everyone, from couples to families to small and large groups. Whether you’re an adventurer, birdwatcher, or just enjoy being close to nature, this tour has something for you! Our river boat, with a 115HP motor, has a capacity for 45 passengers every two hours, and contains all safety equipment.
